Our mission is to create scientific equipment that pushes the boundaries of magnetic resonance and unlocks new avenues in research, industry, and substance identification. Located in Ottawa, we collaborate with leading scientists from around the world to develop breakthrough scientific equipment.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join us starting January 20th, 2025, to design and construct key components of our scientific instrument based on our proprietary magnetic resonance technologies. Your responsibilities will include designing low-noise power supplies, building pulsed magnetic field generators, implementing electromagnetic interference shielding, assembling hardware for data capture & processing, and creating actuator circuits & position sensors for an autosamplers. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital, as well as maintaining comprehensive records of your design decisions in an electronic lab notebook, and clearly communicating your solutions to the team.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working with precision electronics, including designing digital and analog circuits.
Assets (non-essential)
- Experience working with an Arduino, a Raspberry Pi, or other microcontrollers / microprocessors.
- Experience working with solenoids & magnetic fields.
- Experience with machining & tooling.
- Experience operating 3D printers, using 3D modeling software (e.g. SolidWorks).
- Experience designing, assembling, and testing printed circuit boards.
- Experience prototyping scientific equipment.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g. EagleCAD).
- Analytical & numerical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Self-motivated, able to work with shifting priorities.
